Repairs Manager upto £46k

Regional maintenance and repair contractor looking for a repairs manager local authority framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure you have the right team and resources to meet the operational demands of the service, proactively managing the performance of the team and resources, to successfully deliver workflows under your control to achieve “the right work at the right time”.
  • Ensure your direct line reports, and team below, are being coached, developed, and trained through Personal Development Plans and regular One-to-One’s that identifies key service and personal objectives to be achieved that motivates the individual, and improves the service delivered to the customer.
  • Lead and coach Systems Thinking Methodology and Principles throughout the team so that it becomes a natural way of working.
  • Coach and train line reports to be able to manage conflict, issues, and poor performance of staff to achieve a positive outcome for the contract and company.
  • Support the Contract Manager in the management of sub-contractors to ensure SLA’s, quality or service, value for money, and safe working methods are achieved and escalate issues, trends, or concerns as they occur.
  • Escalate to the Contract Manager any serious events or occurrences that need to be addressed urgently, and highlight key issues, trends or issues that could affect service delivery performance longer term if not addressed.
  • Ensure operational delivery performance is constantly measured and monitored by you and your team to identify trends, issues, or areas for improvement, and when needed coherent improvement plans are executed by the team applying systems thinking methodology.
  • Ensure your team of supervisors deliver large planned works that represent vfm, and meet approved cost thresholds. Providing cost estimates in terms of time, materials, and plant, programme of works, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Be the point of contact for escalation relating to tenant issues and complaints for the Area Housing Offices technical team. Ensuring all complaints are recorded and resolved within a timely manner.
  • Ensure Health and Safety practices and policies are followed and adhered to by any of the resources utilised in the delivery of the work.
  • QUALIFICATION

  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Diploma/HNC in a Building discipline or a Qualified by a Trade Background
  • Have a full driving licence.
  • EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience of working in a Building Maintenance Environment.
  • 2 years’ experience of managing a team in a Social Housing Environment.
  • Exposure to a Maintenance Contract that has used the Systems Thinking Methodology and Principles to deliver the service (desirable).
