Apprenticeship Delivery Manager

Location: National Support Centre, London, SE1 7JY (hybrid)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £45,000 per annum

The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.

We are currently looking for an Apprenticeship Delivery Manager to ensure the successful operational delivery of MSSC’s growing apprenticeship programme. The successful candidate will ensure it is of high quality by working with colleagues from across the charity in its development, implementation, and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational delivery of direct and subcontracted apprenticeship delivery to ensure apprentices receive high quality outcomes.
  • Establish and deliver a quality review cycle in line with the Ofsted and Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) requirements to assure compliance, quality and performance management of apprenticeship programmes.
  • Research and identify new opportunities to grow apprenticeship provision in line with strategic objectives, ensuring appropriate income generation for reinvestment.
  • Contribute to the annual self-assessment report and quality improvement action plan.
  • Collect and maintain learner records that provide the MIS Consultant with relevant data to provide or update the digital apprenticeship service (DAS) and Individualised Learner Record (ILR), including enrolment forms, eligibility checks, attendance, progression and destination data.
  • Lead the development, implementation and use of technology with apprentice learning e.g. implementing e-portfolio and e-training platforms.
  • Design and deliver relevant professional development to tutor/trainers that improves the quality of teaching and learning and improves the learners’ experience.

Requirements

  • A recognised teaching/training qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Experience working as a practitioner in Government-funded post 16 or adult education and training sector in the last 5 years.
  • Experience of online learning and development using software or e-learning platforms within the educational sector.
  • Experience of undergoing external accreditation processes and Ofsted inspection.
  • Working knowledge of ILR specifications and provider funding rules.

Desirable

  • Qualification in leadership or management.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Classroom and/or e-portfolio software.
  • Knowledge of IfATE approvals process.
