Job summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management and formulation of all Emergency Department medical staffing rotas.
The role will require active engagement and working closely with lead clinicians, including management and admin leads. You will need to have the ability to use your own initiative, prioritising your workload to meet the changing needs of a busy department. You will be flexible, excellent at problem solving and adaptable with excellent IT skills.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and agreeing planned absences of annual leave, study leave and special leave. Unplanned absences will need constant monitoring and follow up of accurate recording, as well as, proactive sourcing of shift cover.
Main duties of the job
The main duties and core responsibility of the job role is to provide full and comprehensive admin support for the management of the Medicine Divisions Doctors Rotas; being the first point of contact for medical staffing Rotas within the Emergency Department.
To assist the Lead Consultants from the Emergency Department to provide the main administrative support for the smooth running of the day to day operational functions of the Department. To co-ordinate the medical staffing rotas, liaising with the Consultants, Nursing staff and Secretaries, ensuring all medical leave is managed appropriately, this being key to delivering the appropriate cover to enable meeting the departments personnel requirements.
