Job summary

In this role you will work closely with patients diagnosed with an eating disorder, their families, friends and carers. Band 4 Nursing Associates are expected to:

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be accountable to the registered nurses they work with
  • Be accountable as professionals registered with the NMC and work to the Code for Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates
  • Promote health and prevent ill health
  • Provide and monitor care
  • Work to improve safety and the quality of care

As a Nursing Associate, you may be expected to practice any of the skills listed in the NMC Standards of Proficiency skills annexes or be responsible for the care delivered to a number of service users but you will always be supervised by a registered nurse and receive support from the wider multi-disciplinary team. We believe that the best health care is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other teams and services to provide seamless care.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be accountable to the registered nurses you work with.

Typical tasks for this role are: You will assist with the processing of new admissions to the inpatient ward. You will participate in the assessment, planning and providing of clinical interventions relevant to the patient group such as: completing vital observations, ECG’s and Venepuncture, Supporting Key Work and attending MDT meetings. You will work alongside registered nurses, supporting you in your role. You will assist with patient reviews and participate in supporting clients to improve their physical and mental health.

Who are we? The team consists of a wide range of disciplines including nurses, HCA’s, OT’s, other Allied Health Professionals, and Doctors. We work closely with the other services within VSEDS to ensure we have high standards of care and to ensure support can be offered through all stages of treatment.

Where are we? Our main base is in Chelsea (next to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital). Thanks to the NHS influence many local cafes, restaurants and bars give discounts ranging from 10-20% to all NHS staff.The other site is based at Northwick Park Hospital which offers outpatient support to the wider boroughs of London we cover.We look forward to welcoming you to our team and helping you to grow.
