To work as a Community Pharmacy Manager, toprovide an efficient and safe pharmaceutical service.

To provide advice and support to patients,relatives, and other healthcare professionals involved in the patients care.

To act under the direction of the SuperintendentPharmacist and Director of Pharmacy.

Delivery of all Essential, advanced andessential services within the Community Pharmacy.

To assist in the delivery of all Local servicesoffered by the pharmacy, which have been commissioned by the CCG, Public Healthdepartment and Local Health authority (or successor organisations)

To effectively manage the pharmacy team toachieve all KPIs.

To Deliver an outstanding service to patients

To maintain appropriate stock levels of allitems in the pharmacy.

To comply with all legal and NHS requirementsincluding record keeping

Work as part of the Community Pharmacy Division.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Practice

Perform all duties required within, or on behalfof the community pharmacy. This includes all Essential, Additional and Enhancedservices which are locally or nationally commissioned. This will include butnot limited to:

Comply with the requirements for the sale orsupply of all medicines as required by the Medicines Act.

Maintain stocks at an appropriate level of allmedication and appliances, within the pharmacy, to meet patient demands.

Communication

Provide advice and support to patients and theirrelatives and carers as appropriate.

Build good relationships with practices andother prescribers and healthcare professionals (e.g., GPs, communitypharmacists, district nurses etc.) to facilitate patient care.

Code of Conduct For Professional Group all staff members are required to work in accordance with their professional groups code of conduct.

Be aware of, and comply with employment legislation and codes of good practice.

Be aware of, and comply with, all company and practice infection prevention and control policies, to include hand hygiene, personal hygiene, environmental and food hygiene.

Report any significant events within the time frame set out in the company policy.

Follow current MEP and local guidance with regard to Community pharmacy issues and alerts.

Team Working

Work as part of the community pharmacy team and wider team of healthcare professionals, fielding queries and offering advice.

Support and help develop colleagues and other members of the community pharmacy team

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly according to team / clinical needs

Management of risk

Health & Safety the post-holder must co-operate with Management in discharging its responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and take reasonable health and safety of themselves and others and to ensure the agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors. All Health & Safety issues to be flagged to senior staff and the post-holder must comply with the IntraHealth Health & Safety Policy as well as any additional policy requirements within the clinical contract.

Ensure personal, staff, stock, cash and premise security at all times and before leaving the pharmacy.

Report all adverse events and significant events in accordance with agreed procedures and participate in improvement activities to reduce reoccurrence

Managing information

Maintain appropriate records.
