Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Psychiatric LiaisonServices provide high quality mental health care to people in people in 5district general hospitals across Surrey. (Guildford, Frimley, Chertsey,Redhill and Epsom).
We are looking for a highly dedicated nurse, occupational therapist orsocial worker to join our Liaison Psychiatry Service at the Royal Surrey CountyHospital in Guildford Surrey
By providing expert interventions and oversight to the care of olderpeople within the Acute General hospital pathway. Who will ensure that the caredelivered is excellent and in keeping with the most up to date guidelines. Theapplicant will have a good knowledge of Mental Health within older age adults.
Will support the growth and development of other members of the Liaisonpsychiatry team whilst supporting the service manager and wider Trust toachieve an exemplary underpinning our visions and values.
You will put the experience of the person using the service at thecentre of my decision making whilst building and maintaining supportive andresponsive relationships with colleagues in the Acute Trust.
This role attracts a local Retention Premium of £500 payable annuallyafter 3 years of Service in the Team and each year thereafter.
Working from home contracts do not attract high cost area payments.
Main duties of the job
Functioningalready at CORE 24 the multidisciplinary team operates a shift system across a24hr period seven days a week. You will be working as a lead clinicianprimarily assessing patients referred from our inpatient wards or those whopresent to the Accident and Emergency Department.
You will have a positive approachto work, with an outstanding, demonstrable background of providing high-qualitycare. You will have an insight into liaison psychiatry and the nationalguidelines impacting these services. Experience and willingness to teach andeducate others within the team and the wider hospital network is required.Service development and improvement will be integral to the role, promoting thebest possible outcomes for people in the acute hospital setting.
This is a challenging butrewarding role, offering an exciting opportunity for a clinician who has strongassessment and therapeutic skills. You will need the ability to workautonomously whilst still contributing to the team as a whole. Previousexperience of working in Liaison Psychiatry and across ages is desirable,although not essential.

To work collaboratively with the service manager and Multi- disciplinaryteam to develop outstanding liaison psychiatry services.
To engage staff and external partners positively and constructively, inline with the Trusts Clinical and Commercial strategy, supporting the TrustsVision and Values
To assist in the development ofpractical innovative and creative solutions to clinical and service delivery issuesencountered within the liaison setting
To support the service manager and clinicians in the liaison servicewith the development of sustainable service improvements in line with nationalspecifications, local implementation requirements and a set financial envelope.
To promote and introduce systems to continuously improve quality ofcare, drawing on national and trust guidance, in particular CQC standards
