Your responsibilities

The CAD Technician will form a part of our Project Engineering team, working closely with this team and the wider organisation to produce accurate engineering designs. They will work within our Inventor software and ERP system (SAP) to

  • To produce mechanical general arrangement and detail drawings

  • To prepare bills of materials and parts lists for manufacture

  • They will also work within the wider team to contribute design ideas and to be involved with technical problem solving

    Your qualifications

    Essential

  • Able to create mechanical engineering designs, drawings and documentation with experience gained from an industrial environment

  • Extensive IT skills, particularly those used for 3D CAD, calculation packages and compiling documentation

  • Experience of working with an ERP system

  • A good team player but with the ability to work alone to deadlines effectively

  • Creative with the ability to innovate

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills

  • Able to communicate effectively around engineering issues and able to present technical ideas clearly

  • Desirables

  • Experience of working within the materials handling industry

  • Use of SAP within an engineering enviroment

  • Experience with Inventor software

  • HND in Mechanical Engineering
