Job summary
North Wales and BCUHB continue to develop and improve our stroke services. We now have exciting opportunities to be part of an innovative stroke rehabilitation model in the Central Area working as a multi-professional rehabilitation assistant (MPRA) within our inpatient rehabilitation team and the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team working in the community. You will develop and demonstrate the skills to work with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dietitians , supporting and enhancing rehabilitation for stroke patients in the central area of BCUHB.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about rehabilitation and empowering people. You will need to be self-motivated, compassionate, and able to work with a large and varied team, with the desire to continually learn new skills and adapt to a changing rehabilitation environment. Recent and relevant experience in a therapy healthcare setting is therefore essential.
The inpatient rehabilitation service will be based within Llandudno Hospital. The ESD service will cover the Conwy and Denbighshire area.
This post is full time over seven days a week – with weekend working expected as part of a rota.

Main duties of the job
The posts will involve a wide range of duties including assisting therapy programmes with a holistic approach, facilitating daily rehabilitation, following acute care to the community in line with national standards, delivering individual and group therapy sessions, gathering data to support stroke service audit (including updating the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme electronic database), and supporting the ongoing development of stroke services in the region.
Posts will be based in hospital and home-based rehabilitation..
