Job summary
The Integrated Discharge Service are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Administrator to work within the team.
The post holder will provide administrative support to a team of health and social care staff based at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust – Oxford Road site .
You must have previous administration experience, excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
You will be willing to adapt to change and learn new skills, having a good knowledge of general admin and clerical procedures together with strong organisational skills, whilst delivering high quality support for participants and the service.
This is a full time position.
This post will initially be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary working within the integrated discharge service, though the postholder will be required to support other MCR community services in the new community hub in Gorton.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the discharge service administration
- Liaison with internal and external departments or organisations.
- Respond and action requests via email/telephone and face to face.
- Data entry and retrieval from databases/core clinical systems.
- To devise and maintain office systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and organisational tasks/duties
To use a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Access etc to produce correspondence and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases.
To devise and maintain office systems.
To maintain and update websites and internal databases.
To collate data for performance reporting as required.
To attend meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes.
Patient/client user related tasks/duties
Arrange appointments as and when required including meetings and patient visits, managing electronic and EMISS diaries and sending out letters as required.
Bring to the attention of the service clinicians any investigations or results that are pending and require action following transcription of clinical correspondence.
Deal with telephone communications and type letters with a potentially distressing or emotional content.
