Job summary

A vacancy exists for a Pension Supervisor within the Employment Services Directorate within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP).

The successful applicant will assist the Pension Team Leader in implementing new systems and procedures and be responsible for the provision of specialist advice on all aspects of the NHS and Local Pensions Schemes.

The role involves the supervision of a small team of Pensions Officers, ensuring work is completed within the agreed deadlines. You must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, together with good influencing, planning, organisational and presentation skills.

Main duties of the job

Daily supervision of the Pension Officers, ensuring that the administration of pension data is correctly and accurately recorded.

Responsible for application of NHS Pension Scheme and NEST Pension Schemes Rules and Regulations.

Administer the Automatic Enrolment Process, ensuring all eligible employees are placed into the appropriate pension scheme.

Provide specialised guidance and advice to Managers, Members of Staff, Workforce Departments and members of the Pensions and Payroll Teams.

In the absence of the Team Leader, take responsibility for the allocation and co-ordination of work, ensuring adequate cover is provided.

Plan, organise and deliver training sessions/presentations.

Work closely with colleagues across Employment Services and the other functions within NWSSP to promote joint approaches to solving service issues. Build and maintain links with other colleagues within NHS Wales and other organisations to share best practice.

Must have experience of working in a pension/payroll environment with in-depth knowledge of Pension Procedures/Regulations.

Candidates should be IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
