(Town Centre Location)

Our client is seeking a Payroll Technician to work within a well-established accountancy firm. Existing practice experience is desirable although not essential.

The main duties:

  • End to end payroll processing for a number of clients & dealing with complex accounts
  • Processing, weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly, and monthly payrolls
  • Processing new starters and leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP
  • Dealing with payroll queries
  • Daily use of the in-house system Sage along with MS Applications
  • Completing accurate bank payments and HMRC returns on behalf of clients;
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and different types of pension schemes for payroll compliance;
  • Planning workloads independently and proactively, highlighting was additional
  • support is required

    Assisting in the continuous improvement of the department, including identifying and implementing opportunities for improved systems and new clients;

    Supporting colleagues and the wider team as required.

    The main requirements:

  • End to end payroll experience
  • Proficient IT skills, in particular Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • Committed and reliable
