What is the overall job?

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the daily works required to install, maintain and dismantle the hoists and Common Towers. Reporting into the Operations Manager, this person will manage the Plant erection team on a daily basis and perform thorough examinations on plant equipment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Write method statements and risk assessments for the works being carried out
  • Give recorded toolbox talks and briefings
  • Manage logistical requirements on city centre projects, liaising with the site logistical teams
  • Ensure all working at height risks have been assessed and controlled prior to and during operations on site
  • Identifying and planning upcoming works with the relevant trade contractors and the Multiplex Plant and Equipment’s Temporary Works Co-ordinators to ensure the correct Temporary Works schemes are adopted
  • Communicate with Multiplex Plant + Equipment supply chain ensuring suitable equipment, RAMS and labour is being used to the highest standards
  • What do I need to be successful in this role?

    In this role, you will need to have relevant experience in the hoist industry and hold a CPCS. Other beneficial skills and experience will include:

  • Experience with Alimak/Raxtar Hoists
  • Good understanding of mechanical/electrical engineering
  • Experience with Common Towers
  • Some preferred qualifications would include:

  • SSSTS
  • IPAF
  • NVQ slinger signaller/hoist erection
  • Harness trained
