Refuge Support Worker

We are working with a well-known charity based near Leeds City Centre who are looking to expand their team and help those in need.

Imagine being able to go home after work knowing everything you have done and will be doing is having a positive impact on someone. You might never meet them/get to know them but you still get that satisfying feeling that makes you smile. From lively Zoom contributions to fun runs for charity, it is all about giving something back.

You will be working for the largest women’s charitable Not for Profit organisation in Leeds and provide support for service users.

The role will be to cover a shift from 4:30am-10:30am Monday-Wednesday, Friday and possibly weekends in refuges and safe houses in Leeds. The successful candidate will be expected to help keep the refuge accommodation safe and secure, answer the 24-hour helpline and respond to individuals and families in our accommodation.

You will be paid on an hourly rate of 10.30 per hour.

You will need:

  • An understanding of Domestic Violence & Abuse and risk and safety issues
  • The ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion
