Your new company
We’re pleased to be working with a prestigious and well renowned organisation in Cambridge to recruit a temporary Building Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team of Surveyors, Engineers and Project Managers who cover the full range of building surveying services for a diverse property portfolio with historic and listed buildings through to state of the art research facilities.

Your new role
As the Building Surveyor you will work closely and collaboratively with a number of the University of Cambridge affiliated colleges and the University itself. You will be working closely with the in house sustainability teams to deliver on ambitious carbon emissions reduction targets.

You will undertake professional building surveying services including building pathology, design, specifying and managing remedials within occupied buildings, condition surveys, insurance claims, dilapidations across the Universities educational and residential buildings.

What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be educated to at least degree or equivalent level in building surveying or a construction based discipline, have a proven track record of successful delivery of maintenance and minor works projects and either have, or be working towards, professional accreditation. You will also have excellent numeracy skills, organisational, CAD and communication skills as well as knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

What you’ll get in return
As a Building Surveyor you will receive a rate of up to £28 per hour Umbrella/Gross, 25 days holiday and an Auto Enrolment pension after 12 weeks. The organisation work in an agile manner with some home working and time in the office in Cambridge, where there is free parking and easy access to the park and ride.
