One Healthcare, a Private Hospital Group based in Ashford, Kent has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly ward team.

Our busy Inpatient Ward consists of 20 beds and provides care over multiple surgical specialities. Our ‘One’ Team culture creates a working environment that offers you the time to care, whilst developing new skills and strengthening existing ones.

Reporting to the Ward Sister, you will provide a high standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team, including:

  • collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and
  • ensuring compliance in line with national best practice standards.

Hours: 37.5 per week, across a 7 day rotational shift pattern, including days, nights and weekends.

Salary: Equivalent to NHS AfC pay scale, Band 5 – dependent on skillset and experience.

Main duties of the job

The role of Registered Nurse will involve providing:

  • pre and post operative care,
  • assessing the needs of the patient,
  • planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care,
  • carrying out clinical nursing procedures,
  • administering medication, injections, intravenous infusions, and male and female catheterisation;
  • recording and maintaining accurate patient medical records and histories on the relevant IT systems.

Experience

  • Clinical nursing experience in acute surgical care
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

Skills

  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills in the nurses area of clinical practice, including phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, epidurals, and intravenous antibiotics
  • Sound written, numerical and verbal communication skills
  • Sound computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems
  • Demonstrated customer service skills

Main responsibilities & duties of the role:

  • Ensure the smooth running of clinics assessing the needs of the patient, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care
  • Identify patient care requirements by establishing a rapport, providing emotional and psychological support to the patient as well as to their family/carer
  • Provide healthcare advice, educating patients/family/carers on the condition, medications, self-care and health maintenance, answering any questions they may have
