Job summary

Full-time (10 PA) Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. This is a substantive post and is funded 50:50 by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Sheffield. The post will also hold the title of Honorary Senior Clinical Teacher at the University of Sheffield.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

  • FHEA, PGCE or Teaching diploma
  • Name on the Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology specialist register or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
  • Postgraduate professional qualifications: FRCPath or equivalent

Desirable

  • MFDS, MJDF, FDS or equivalent
  • MSc, MClinDent or other postgraduation

Clinical Expereince

Essential

  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology.

Desirable

  • Relevant clinical experience in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and/or Oral Medicine.
  • Clinical undergraduate teaching experience.

Research

Essential

  • Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate

  • Publications in Peer reviewed journals
  • Evidence of research grant income or involvement in research studies
