Robert Half are working exclusively with a successful small accounts function with an excellent relaxed culture with a early finish of 1 pm on Fridays in Bedford.

This role of Assistant Accountant is paying £35 – 40k depending on experience with working hours of 8 am to 4:30pm Mon to Thursday with a half day on Fridays with a 1pm finish.

Very relaxed culture, family friendly feel and very supportive line manager that will provide full study support for them to eventually free up the Finance manager in the future….

Role responsibilities

  • To assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts and reporting, quarterly forecasts and the annual budget
  • Assist with the annual external audit
  • Assist with the implementation on new ERP system
  • Prepare and maintain accounting records
  • Calculate intercompany recharges
  • Prepare reports and monitor controls
  • Supervise and assist the Assistant Finance Administrator as required
  • Preparation of supplier payment runs
  • Maintaining commission payable records
  • Processing credit card and expense claims
  • Assist with VAT and other taxes as required
  • Assisting and coaching other staff as necessary
  • Deputise for the Finance Manager when necessary
  • Any other financial matters as appropriate

    • QUALIFICATIONS &

    EXPERIENCE

  • Familiar with an ERP system
  • Competent with Excel (V look ups and pivot tables)
  • Able to consistently produce work of good quality whilst meeting deadlines
  • Tenacious when it comes to problem solving
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • The desire to perform a “hands on role” within a small team
