About the role
Workingas a key member of the people team, you will provide a commercial peopleservice to our audit service line supporting the central region (Birmingham,Bristol, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Leicester and Bury) as well as the nationaltechnical audit and national data analytics teams across the UK.
Youwill manage the service delivery and support all elements of the employeeexperience from joining RSM, to going on family leave, to leaving, andeverything in between. You will alsowork closely with the Senior People Advisor and People Advisory Manager tostrategically support your service line and area of the business, working onengagement, sense of belonging, wellbeing, diversity & inclusioninitiatives. You will also contribute tothe ongoing development of the National People Team function with theopportunity to work on wider service line or national groups.
This role will work closely with three other People Advisors and haveaccess to a People Assistant as well as other specialist functions within thepeople team including POT, reward, D&I and wellbeing.
The remit of the role will focus onproactive people support and advice to your client groups, including completionof the annual bonus and salary review processes, dealing with employee relationsissues as they arise, providing wellbeing and absence management support, provisionof management information/analysis and delivery of serviceline initiatives.

About the job
In this role youwill provide generalist HR advice in a number of areas including:
Partner Support and Line Management Development: providing support and guidance to key stakeholders, department heads and line managers to help them manage their areas of responsibility and its on-going development.
Compensation and Benefits: Supporting the business with the annual bonus and salary review processes for your area of responsibility but utilising market data and by providing guidance/support to line managers, budget holders and regional leads.
Employee Relations: Providing expert advice and guidance to partners and mangers on a host of employee relations activities including simple and complex capability (performance/qualification), disciplinary and grievances ensuring that legal and RSM requirements are met, that risks are appropriately managed and commercially sound. You will also undertake investigations in relation to grievances, disciplinaries and capability matters, or will attend such meetings where appropriate.
Wellbeing and absence support: you will be trained to become a wellbeing ambassador.Providing advice and support to line managers and members of staff in relation to mental health and other absence issues.You will be involved in complex occupational health/potential PHI cases.
Performance and development: responsibility for attending and managing appraisal moderation meetings for your areas of the business, ensuring that performance grading distribution is fair and appropriate.You will also provide advice to line managers in relation to giving constructive feedback, coaching, and setting appropriate objectives.
Policies and Procedures: providing advice to the business on the application of all RSM policies and procedures, and involvement in amending/updating our policies where appropriate.
Lifecycle activities: Conducting exit interviews for more senior roles, or in contentious situations, as and when required. Providing guidance to individuals, partners and line managers regarding maternity, paternity, parental and shared parental leave.Promoting the use of share parental leave amongst all employees.
Data Analysis: Reviewing, interpretating and analysing people related data to support and improve your area of responsibility, the wider service line and business
Reporting: making full use of the HR systems to deliver regular reporting to the business in relation to holiday usage, retention, exit interview feedback/trends, absence trends, etc,
Projects: involvement in national HR projects as appropriate.To lead or take part in local projects as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements
The role requires:
Years of experience of working at People Advisor level in a generalist role (essential)
Significant experience in performance management/capability processes (essential)
Experience of investigating disciplinary and grievance cases; conducting redundancy and general consultations (essential)
Experience of working independently from line manager (essential)
Ability to liaise with and manage stakeholders at all levels (essential)
Experience of completing salary review process (preferable)
Experience of professional or financial services environment (preferable)
Ability to review, interpret and analyse data
Experience of working in a multi-sited environment/role (preferable)
CIPD qualified or working towards qualification (preferable)
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent client service skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Excellent Microsoft office skills
Passionate about HR
