You will be based within the Sixth form College working alongside a small friendly team in Tower Hamlets, East London. You will be the initial point of contact for incoming phone calls, visitors, parents and pupils with a professional, helpful and friendly approach to build positive ongoing relationships.

Job Title: Attendance Officer

Pay Rate: £13ph

Hours: Monday to Friday: 8am – 1pm

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Duration: Immediate start until July

  • Attendance Officer duties:

  • Ideally experience working within a similar role including knowledge of SIMS and inputting student attendance data
  • Ensure all registers are completed and unexplained absences are noted
  • Working closely with teachers, Heads of Year, Senior Management Team, and external agencies to analyse data and compile and present reports on student attendance
  • Communicate effectively with staff, other professionals and members of the public face to face, by email and on the telephone and in doing so promoting a positive image of the School
  • Help produce school documents as and when required, for school leaders and ensure all documents are recorded accurately and stored on the database
  • Assist with pupil first aid welfare duties, liaising with parents/staff etc.
  • Assist with any other office duties that may be reasonably required by the management team
  • Use IT and be highly skilled in all software applications used in school
  • Support leadership teams by producing reports/letters as necessary
