This exciting new post has been developed to scope, benchmark and improve locality Podiatry care for the Manchester GP registered population with Diabetes.

The Diabetes Strategy for Greater Manchester recognises the need to both improve the management of diabetes for those living with the condition, and prevent the complications associated with Diabetes, and this role is integral to these aims.

The Diabetes Strategy for Greater Manchester recognises the need to both improve the management of diabetes for those living with the condition, and prevent the complications associated with Diabetes.

The post holder will maintain their clinical competency and undertake a minimum of 2 direct clinical sessions per week. The post holder will act in accordance with their own professional body and will have a responsibility and legal obligation to ensure that information processed for patients and staff is accurate and kept confidential and secure in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will use their clinical expertise to assess the provision across the 3 MLCO localities, benchmark to national standards and produce an action plan to address any local variations in care.

The post holder will be an integral member of the senior Podiatry team and will contribute to ongoing service development and redesign for podiatry and lower limb services through the demonstration of expert clinical knowledge. The post holder will lead on and promote service developments and will have knowledge and understanding of the National agenda and local directives around Diabetes.

The post holder will use their clinical expertise to assess the provision across the 3 MLCO localities, benchmark to national standards and produce an action plan to address any local variations in care. They are responsible for this across the MLCO footprint, reporting to Central Locality and will be professionally accountable to their own clinical body.
