A Legal 500 ranked firm is looking for a Private Wealth lawyer to join their team in London/Bristol.

This highly regarded award-winning firm has 900+ lawyers across the UK and the globe in 25 jurisdictions, providing expert legal advice with three interlinked aspects: excellent legal services and undoubted legal expertise; in-depth knowledge of clients’ sectors; presented in the context of digitalisation, decarbonisation and urban dynamics. The firm has won awards such as UK Law Firm of the Year and Best Corporate Culture. Clients the firm deals with cover sectors including technology, media and communications, financial services, energy utilities, real estate and infrastructure, retail and consumer, life sciences and healthcare, and workforce solutions.

The Private Wealth practice consists of 3 Partners, 2 fee-earners, and one knowledge lawyer, who act for High-Net-Worth/Ultra-High-Net-Worth clients across the full spectrum of private wealth issues, including the following:

  • International tax and estate planning: We assist a range of entrepreneurs and international families with managing their exposure to tax and implementing cross-border estate planning.
  • UK and offshore trusts: We have an extensive track record acting for clients on the formation and management of UK and offshore trusts, including assisting clients with contentious trust matters.
  • Estate administration and inheritance tax issues: We are regularly called on to advise on UK IHT issues and in administering high-value estates often involving assets abroad.

    • The team have a high-end client base of entrepreneurs and international families, and in keeping with the firm’s reputation for acting for some of the UK’s leading businesses and global corporates, we are regularly called on to assist the owners/CEOs of these businesses (both in the UK and abroad) on their tax structuring and estate planning issues.
    In addition, we have established a reputation as a ‘go-to’ firm for US related private client matters. Their offices in the US and Asia allows them to tap into the significant base of shareholders/executives/owners in the technology and financial services sectors in those regions.

    As part of the team, the successful candidate will be based in the firm’s London or Bristol office, working closely with three highly experienced Partners, gaining access to high quality work, advising international families and the leaders of national and international businesses. You will be joining a successful firm with a collegiate and supportive culture.
    The ideal candidate will be:

  • A E&W qualified solicitor.
  • Have previous experience working within the Private wealth practice of an established London firm.
  • Have demonstrable technical expertise commensurate with your level of qualification, coupled with experience of both UK and offshore private client work.
  • Be able to advise on estate planning, personal tax issues and trusts in an international context for high net worth individuals and institutional clients.
