Senior Capital Projects Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Capital Projects Manager to join the dynamic Capital Estates Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. You will assist in the management and delivery of the capital programme including acting as the estates lead for a new multimillion pound 52 bed ward new build project.

Using your expertise you will lead in the assessment of the clinical requirements, prepare architectural designs and specifications and manage the delivery of these projects. You will also provide professional and technical advice to Estates colleagues, clients and other key stakeholders.

Ideally you will have :

  • Experience designing and project managing large schemes in a healthcare environment
  • Experience using AutoCAD to prepare detailed drawings
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Professional membership MCIOB/MRICS

Main duties of the job

  • To project manage all phases of new-build and refurbishment schemes from inception to completion to provide optimum solutions and best value.
  • Undertake the procurement of services consistent with scheme design brief and in compliance with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
  • Undertake feasibility studies including options and budget costs for capital schemes.
  • Assisting in the preparation of business cases for capital investment.
  • Undertaking space planning studies.
  • Preparing reports of schemes costs, commitment and expenditure to the Estates & Facilities Capital Group and Capital Programme Management Group (CPMG).
  • Planning and monitoring of capital schemes and preparing progress reports for the Estates & Facilities Capital Group and CPMG.
  • Chairing/taking notes of working groups, project team and progress meetings.
  • Project Mange of a number of capital schemes in a simultaneous manner.
  • To undertake a post project evaluation on capital schemes as requested.
  • Responsible for drafting and amending as appropriate technical/CAD drawings related to schemes being managed. Supports the Estates Office in providing Information to enable input into the record management of the Trust’s Estates using the MICAD System.
  • Provide technical and estate condition advice to inform the Estates Strategy and ERIC returns as required.
  • Provide support to the wider PM team.
