King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in South East London is a large teaching hospital and is at the forefront of academic and nursing excellence. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual to recruit into a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist role for Allergy and Asthma at the Princess Royal University Hospital.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will work closely with the multi professional team members to enhance service delivery. This is an exciting chance to provide an advanced specialist nursing service to children and young people referred to the Paediatric Allergy and Paediatric Asthma Services. As an individual who is new to this role you will be well supported by your peers within the division and offered training and support to develop the skills required for this role. This role will enable you to gain extensive new skills in leadership, people management within the clinical environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Allergy and Asthma you will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following diagnosis and through treatment. This might include patient education around general management of asthma, eczema, rhinitis, food allergy, anaphylaxis, asthma exacerbation, use of Epipen.
This exciting opportunity requires a confident pioneering, dynamic children’s nurse to ensure continuity of a high standard of evidence based nursing care, assessing health, health related and nursing needs of patients, their families and other carers by identifying and initiating appropriate steps for effective care.
