Title: Healthcare Assistant

Locations: Community BasedEastern England Region- East and North Hertfordshire,Stevenage, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Letchworth, Hitchin and all other surrounding areas

Job Shift: Nights

Job Schedule: Full time/ Part time nights

Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, alignedwithAFC BAND 2 £21,318per annum, pro rata, plus enhancements.

Annual Leave Entitlement will take into account previous years of service under Agenda for Change terms and conditions

Marie Curie Clinical terms and conditions in 2023. These will align with some of the core terms and conditions of the NHS (Agenda for Change contracts). This will include new high-cost area supplement where applicable and unsocial hours enhancements.

Contract Type: Permanent Nights

With experience of End of Life care, you’re ready and able to make a real difference. Ours is a one-to-one approach to care, so you’re sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their families – usually in their own homes. Working without close supervision, you’ll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient’s established care plan. You’ll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant community experience
  • S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is desirable
  • Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support
  • UK driving licence & access to a vehicle are essential

    85% x your basic salary per hour paid for Sundays and Public Bank Holidays

    43% x your basic salary per hour paid for Saturdays & night duty (8pm to 6am)
