We are recruiting for a Senior Respiratory & Sleep Physiologist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This post is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, dynamic team and develop as a respiratory and sleep physiologist. You will receive in house mentoring and training in simple and complex lung function testing, sleep diagnostics and the treatment of sleep disordered breathing. Focusing on performing a range of lung function testing, interpretation and reporting fully independently; interpreting respiratory polygraphy traces; performing CPAP treatment setup, routine follow-up and troubleshooting. The unit is committed to participating in ongoing research, both locally and at a national level.
Training post option available – Within six months, the applicant will be offered a promotion to a band 6 senior respiratory and sleep physiologist provided all training requirements and competencies have been met, making this an excellent opportunity for physiologists starting their career or looking to broaden their everyday practice

Main duties of the job
The post holder needs to be able to run Lung Function tests independently and ideally have experience with CPAP treatment, but will be given any necessary training to complement their skills. They will work as part of a team, prioritise and manage the workload and work flexibly with staff at all levels.
Please note that lung function testing experience is essential for this post.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
- BSc Clinical Physiology (Respiratory)
- ARTP 1 and 2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- RCCP Registration A
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of working within the area of sleep disordered breathing and respiratory medicine.
- Ability to perform routine lung function tests and respiratory polygraphy analysis
Desirable criteria
- Participated in research and published papers
- CPAP set ups and follow clinics.
- Experience with polysomnography and actigraphy
- Audit experience.
- Experience with SentrySuite software for lung function
Skills
Essential criteria

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Wide knowledge of appropriate general respiratory & sleep conditions and their management
