Teaching Assistant

A warm, efficient, and inclusive school in Brixton are offering a long-term Teaching Assistant role from after February half term until July 2023. The will be focused around reading and writing intervention across the school. The role includes but is not limited to: taking break and lunch duties, running small interventions, completing administrative tasks and supporting the class teacher with additional duties

Role requirements of a Teaching Assistant:

  • Able to build rapport with students
  • An understanding of how phonics is taught in schools
  • A willingness to help in extra curriculum activities
  • Able to work effectively with small groups

    • Main responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant:

  • To assist the classroom teacher in take engaging lessons
  • Making sure the interventions are in line with the schools needs
  • Co-ordinate effectively with Class Teacher
  • To perform safeguarding duties
  • Perform interventions
  • Happy to organise and plan short sessions
