Rutherford Briant are recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator for a highly regarded and well established support services organisation based in Ongar, Essex. They are now offering an experienced Payroll Administrator a salary up to £33,000 to join their Payroll team at their Head Office.

Our client is ideally looking to recruit a candidate who possesses solid experience of working within payroll as well as experience of supervising a payroll team. This experience can be collated from any sector or industry, as long as the candidate can also display excellent communication and organisational skills, and is confident in handling all aspects of payroll for the company’s 1100 individual employers. Previous admin experience would also be recommended.

What you will do:

  • Working closely with the Payroll & HR Manager to complete tasks for different clients, in order to support the team.
  • Supervising a small team of Payroll Administrators, reviewing the peers work with accuracy and in a timely manner, to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
  • Completing fortnightly payroll for 1100 employees.
  • Maintaining accurate personnel records, preparing accounting transactions and documents, updating procedures and preparing special reports for management.
  • AE reporting and transmissions to Pension provider, RTI transmissions.
  • Assisting with the development of simple to complex HR reports using data from multiple HR data sources.
  • Providing data and administrative support as needed to support workflow with other HR functional areas.
  • Helping to ensure data integrity by monitoring the data for accuracy, consistency, and validity.
  • What you will need:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience within payroll.
  • Ability to perform manual calculations: NI, SSP, SMP, Student loans, deduction orders, tax code analysis.
  • Ability to effectively handle a large volume of work and cope successfully under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of UK employment and Health & Safety, HR legislation Confidential filing and record keeping.
  • Previous administrative experience within an office environment.
  • Intermediate Excel skills
