A globally recognized OEM of precision CNC machinery are recruiting for a service engineer to join their expanding team.

The business is one of the largest and most established companies throughout the world that specialize in the supply, installation, commission, and repair CNC Machines. They have a strong network of engineers across the UK, along with additional technical support staff who are office based. They have a HQ here in the UK as well as a global headquarters Worldwide.

Benefits include A competitive basic salary between £30 – £40K depending on experience, plus an OTE of £55K with door to door payments and overtime weekday / weekends, overnight allowances, company vehicle, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, and a pension scheme

Please note the salary range is broad, so for someone with little or no field experience, the salary would be at the lower end, but for a time served individual with more field experience, the salary range would be at the top end.

Responsibilities for the role include –

  • Breakdown repairs and maintenance CNC Machines including Mills, Lathes, Grinders and purpose made equipment
  • Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
  • Carrying out both mechanical and electrical repairs to machinery including control panels
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Providing end user training and customer support both remotely and on site
  • Travel from home to site covering a region of the south coast, ideally 2hrs travel from Dorset area
  • There are over 50 trained technicians across the UK, along with a large number of technical support staff at the end of the phone for troubleshooting support. Your role would remain regional in the South of the UK, as the business prefer to have engineers look after a region within 2hrs of where they live, rather than travelling all over the UK

    Product training provided in the first 6 – 12 months too, along with job shadowing with their most experienced engineers

    We would love to hear from you’ve previously worked in any of the following roles — Service Engineer, Service Technician, Maintenance of CNC, Field Technician, CNC Engineer
    – Electrically or Mechanically bias, ideally holding an NVQ level 3 in one of the disciplines
    – Experience working CNC controls
    – Good knowledge of fault finding, electrical and mechanical repairs
    – Willingness to travel nationally on occasions, and be prepared to stay overnight if required
    – Clean driving license

    No call out is required with this role, weekend overtime has to be pre authorized by both client and head office before being offered out to the team.

    The business are prepared to be as flexible and supportive as possible, overnight stays and extensive travel is ideally kept to a minimum, but the business requires someone who is prepared to do both when necessary. In return the company can be equally flexible when needing time off or working around other engagements.
