HEAD OF FINANCE

I have exclusively engaged with a well known and much loved FMCG brand that is a global household name. They are seeking a driven, commercial astute and technically proficient Head of finance to work directly with the Head of sales, FD and leadership team to drive profitability, review retailer volumes, promotional activity and manage stock. This role has a small team under, and is a 40% – 60% split between FP&A / Partnering and controls. This role would be based at the Slough Head office, and offers 2 days working from home PW.

Duties:

To manage the financial effectiveness of the UK business, ensuring all controls are operating effectively, financial transactions are recorded accurately and all management, financial and statutory reports are produced on time.

This is a pivotal role within both the company and the Leadership Team as it provides detailed financial support to the Commercial Team whilst strongly supporting the Finance & Operations Director through the provision of accurate & timely month end management and statutory accounts..

This role requires influence and credibility at all levels-

  • control of and autonomy over all month end and year end accounting;
  • partnering the Sales Director to provide a strategic, forward-looking outlook on Customer P & Ls and to identify & drive revenue & margin enhancing opportunities;
  • leading the relationship with the group Finance Team;
  • leading the relationship with our IT Support Partner;
  • liaising with HMRC on all issues around VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax;
  • leading the relationship with the Auditors.
  • the preparation of timely, accurate & reliable Management Accounts and forecasting reports with specific emphasis on the analysis of sales and relevant commentary on variances against plan and previous year.
  • Partner the Sales Director providing financial & strategic support and challenge on current and future trading and Customer Plans (including pricing).
  • Preparation of the annual Budget.
  • Preparation and filing of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Main point of contact with the parent company and our Sage Business Partner for all issues regarding our accounting software.
  • Resolving ad-hoc IT issues and liaison with IT services provider.
  • The preparation of robust financial models to assess profitability of product launches and NPD
  • Leading the preparation of year end and statutory accounts including all backing schedules, liaising with and managing the auditors and leading the consolidation process with the Parent company.
  • The development of robust financial models and business plans to support all new fundraising and investment for business opportunities.
  • Assist the Finance & Operations Director as & when required.
