This role is a Mechanically biased practical role which requires electrical qualifications or an awareness of the electrical side.

The role is working with high pressure systems (the gases industry) and will will be maintaining mechanical equipment such as Pumps, compressors,valves, filters,pressure switches and thermo couples you will ideally have experience with instumentsthat sense for pressure and flow etc.

PLC EXPERIENCE WOULD ALSO BE ENCOURAGING.

What you will enjoy doing

  • You will be a qualified and engaged technician whose primary role is to install, commission, maintain and repair plant equipment, specializing in the Mechanical/Electrical discipline but will undertake a variety of work across the disciplines, consistent with your competence
  • You will carry out planned maintenance of plant equipment in accordance with scheduled work orders, minimizing disruption to site operations and diagnose faults and repair plant and equipment in response to breakdowns
  • You will install and commission new plant and equipment, also monitor and supervise contractors, apprentices and trainees
  • You will source and purchase parts, equipment and workshop materials (within Procurement policies)
  • You will also participate as required in site and departmental activities including, but not limited to; Risk Assessments Planned general Inspections Problem solving and Improvement Groups Monitoring and assisting trainee staff Subgroups
  • At times you will have to work on your own initiative and will be called upon to provide cover for the Maintenance Foreman/supervisor during holiday or busy periods. During weekends and on other occasions work is carried out without direct technical supervision
  • As a technician you will normally work day hours during the week and will be expected to cover breakdown work out of hours or at weekends or at plant overhauls, whilst always working within the company standards and Policy’s applicable to the site you are working on
