My client is a renowned commercial practice basing it’s self across London and Reading.
They are currently looking for a construction partner to lead and grow a team.
You be would expected to be responsible for effective business development and seeking profitable growth opportunities, contributing to the business development efforts of others and the overall marketing and strategic development of the team and firm.
You would be expected to be a strong team player, able to introduce clients to other lawyers to ensure continuity and alternative contacts, contribute to the efficient distribution of work and client contacts, exhibit stability and maturity and set a good example to the firm’s staff, be dependable and handle business diligently, work well under pressure and build and maintain good relationships and mutual respect with Partners and staff. Delegation, supervision and the passing on of know how to other team members will be a fundamental part of the role. A commercial, solutions based approach is critical.
It goes without saying that you will have a high level of technical expertise and will aspire to legal excellence within your field of expertise. You should also want to relate to the professional and business community and have an aptitude for networking and building up strong relationships and undertaking training to clients and other third parties.
You will of course have significant experience of advising on and drafting amendments to standard form construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC), collateral warranties, bonds and guarantees, whether advising public or private sector developers, contractors or consultants, as well as construction industry dispute resolution expertise and experience (e.g. adjudication, arbitration, litigation and/or ADR).
