Relief Occupational Therapy Assistant

Band 3 £23,023 – £24,917 including Distant Islands Allowance pro rata per annum
Relief – as and when required

An opportunity for an enthusiastic Relief Occupational Therapy Assistant has arisen; working within Orkney Health and Care Occupational Therapy Service. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team and interagency framework to support Occupational Therapists to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.

This is a hands-on role, assisting in the delivery of clinical care, however there are some administrative tasks included. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Occupational Therapists to deliver an Occupational Therapy service
  • To assist Physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists to deliver a rehabilitation service to patients
  • To contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients, undertaking therapeutic work and supervising patients in activity relating to their treatment
  • To undertake administrative and general departmental tasks to maintain smooth running of the department

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate who has:

  • An SVQ level 3 in a relevant subject, or equivalent
  • Proven clinical experience working in a health or social care setting
  • Full driving licence
