We are delighted to be recruiting for an Improvement Communications Manager to join Improvement Cymru, working with the Learning Disability Improvement team. If you enjoy providing both strategic and hands-on communications support and are ready for a new challenge, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

Improvement Cymru is the national improvement service for NHS Wales delivered by Public Health Wales. Our goal is to work with NHS Wales and its partner organisations to achieve sustainable, measurable improvements so that the services offered to patients are safer, more effective and timely. The Learning Disability team’s over-riding objectives are to improve the lives of people with a Learning Disability in Wales by supporting transformations to service delivery on a national basis.

Main duties of the job

You’ll be joining an ambitious team, comprising some of the most qualified, experienced Improvement professionals in health and social care in Wales. Together, we lead, embed and champion Improvement across Wales – drawing on international best practice and evidence. As part of our new direction, we want to strengthen our team by recruiting new team members from diverse backgrounds with a mix of skills, personalities and experiences. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the role recruitment manager to discuss the role further if they have any queries.

The successful applicant will be a critical part of our communications team. You will develop, implement and evaluate a range of communications activities to support our all-Wales improvement programmes. For example this may include developing campaigns, social media, news stories, blogs and communications packs.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic communications professional who enjoys being part of a team and is keen to use their skills to play a key role in the delivery of innovative healthcare communications.

The role will be based in Cardiff, at the main Improvement Cymru offices, however current working conditions support home-working, which may continue for some time.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
