Skillsearch has an exciting opportunity for a talented and customer-focused Senior Consultant to join our client’s inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time senior consulting role is remote in the UK and comes with an attractive salary and benefits package. 

As a Senior Consultant, you will work with customers to deliver the company’s technical services. This includes understanding their business, developing recommendations and providing training where appropriate.

In your first few weeks in this Senior Consultant role, you can expect to:

  • Evaluate customer deployments and associated tools, make recommendations on improving them and document the required technical steps
  • Work to develop professional services proposals to achieve customer needs/targets
  • Perform database migrations from Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL to PostgreSQL
  • Conduct performance tuning for existing database deployments

    • To apply for this consulting role, you will need experience working for a professional consulting organisation or a similar field. You will also require the following:

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s of Science in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least three years of DBA level experience for PostgreSQL and Oracle
  • Well-versed in SQL and foundational cloud experience with AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with database design and building applications for PostgreSQL, Oracle or other databases
  • General system administration and performance skills for Linux (Ubuntu, Centos, Redhat, or Debian), including facility with scripting
