We are seeking to recruit a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work in the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Teams based in Colne House , Watford and St Pauls, Hemel Hamstead.

The crisis services across Hertfordshire have recently been part of a transformation project in which additional funding was secured to expand the teams to reflect a more comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. This is in line with best practice for Crisis Resolution.

Main duties of the job

You will be:

  • Working as part of Multidisciplinary team
  • Suited to working in a fast paced, energetic and creative mental health field at the cutting edge of crisis care.
  • It is not a requirement that candidates have prior experience of Crisis Resolution working and we will consider applicants from a wide range of fields able to demonstrate transferable skills and competencies.
  • Ambitious to work within this engaging role, in a high paced environment, with real scope to develop and influence psychologically informed practice within the team.

The role:

  • Providing brief evidence based psychological intervention, therapy, Cognitive Behavioural interventions for service users currently under the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. These will be formulation driven, targeted interventions that look to stabilise the crisis in the first instance and then facilitate further recovery and relapse prevention.
  • This is a varied role with opportunities to develop individual work, group work, family interventions, case consultation and leadership responsibilities. You will be supported by senior Clinical Psychologists in both teams.
  • To support the provision of psychologically informed crisis interventions across the wider crisis team. Part of this is to ensure a formulation driven approach sits alongside a diagnostic one.

  • Qualification from a High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma)
  • Accreditation with the BABCP as a qualified CBT Therapist
  • Experience working as a qualified practitioner with clients with moderate to severe mental illness within a mental health setting.

Desirable
