Climate17 are currently working for an established, expanding company that has a strong reputation for delivering solutions which help businesses reduce Carbon, Energy and Waste.

Heading into their 13th year the management team are now looking to bring in a Back End Developer to support business growth.

Alongside its core consulting services, the company is now establishing a solid platform for growth based on technology and a recurring revenue model. Our client is developing IP through a data analytics managed service for use in commercial buildings and industry as an integrated cloud-based solution (hardware, software & services).

The business also has a second arm, Green Mark. This green accreditation scheme is a web-based portal which provides companies of all sizes a framework to establish their own Environmental Management System. Green Mark is experiencing rapid growth as it moves from being a solution for SMEs, to one which is also scalable for larger business portfolios with multiple sites. There is huge scope to develop the brand.

Role Description:

Working across full development lifecycle with opportunities for project leadership in a supportive, diverse environment.

We believe working interactively alongside people offers distinct advantages to remote working but we also understand benefits of remote working. We adopt a hybrid approach which offers flexibility around the core aim of establishing good team working practices.

  • Design and develop back-end components
  • Integrating building data analytics
  • Working with JavaScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Python and Axon
  • Docker-based service architecture hosted on AWS-EC2
  • Full CI/CD pipeline – Jest, Travis, Docker
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Back End – min 3-5 years of design and development experience with JavaScript and Node.js
  • experience working with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • experience of working with Python and possibly Django
  • experience with automation testing tools such as Jest
  • familiarity with microservices, Docker, AWS and CI/CD
  • good problem solving and collaborative skills and a good communicator
  • experience working within both Linux and Windows environments
