Shift Plant Technician

Salary: Up to £38,500 (dependent upon experience), and Veolia benefits

Hours: 43 hours per week, continental shift pattern. Working 12-hour shifts covering both day and night shifts, supporting a 24/7 working operation.

Location: Davidstow near Camelford, North Cornwall

What will you be doing?

As a shift engineer you will proactively undertake the monitoring, operation and maintenance routines of the on-site biomass and Kerosene fired steam boilers and associated equipment in order to provide steam to meet our Client’s 24/7 Production process.

  • Maintain and operate the on-site steam boilers and associated ancillary equipment under Veolia’s charge.
  • Carry out preventative planned maintenance (PPMs) as directed by the site supervisor.
  • Carry out fault finding & diagnosis of plant defects, both mechanical and electrical.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions and carry out routine servicing of plant equipment.
  • Compete service reports and associated paperwork

What are we looking for?

  • Qualification in mechanical or electrical Industrial maintenance
  • Experience in Operation of Steam Plant and Associated Equipment
  • Must be able to undergo manual work (e.g. Boiler equipment) work at Height and /or in confined spaces.
  • Ability to follow laid down Risk assessments/method statements for specific tasks.
