The In Vitro Toxicology team at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire are seeking a Supervisor to join their team in the exciting Aerosols labs.

In this role you will:

·Provide the supervisory and operational support necessary for the preparation, conduct or reporting of studies carried out within the Aerosol laboratories.

·Is accountable for overall accuracy, soundness, quality, timeliness and completeness all work performed in the area of responsibility

·Responsible for scheduling; allocating resources within the operational/support group/section; overall responsibility for training and supervision of all operational/scientific/support staff.

·Responsible for study data, raw data and/or reporting quality, to include equipment metrology and functionality (where applicable).

·Supervisory responsibility for all staff working in the operational/support group/section assigned to.

·Understand and interpret study plans and identify problems resulting from the study plan or during study conduct and take appropriate action

·Optimize existing and develop new techniques, methods for study conduct or non-study specific areas and support their application

·Plan, organize and participate in meetings (i.e. study start-up meetings, coordination meetings)

·Provide for safety and welfare of staff and supports/enforces Environmental Health and Safety Policies

·May proactively cooperate in global working groups

·Provide support, training and guidance for less experienced staff

·Participate in meetings, inspections or client visits

·Work under occasional supervision

·Perform other related duties as needed

Education:

·Scientific degree minimum (BSc / MSc / PhD or equivalent).

Skills / Experience:

·Supervisory or significant operational experience in a scientific setting within industry

·An in-depth understanding of health and safety policies and a strong understanding of GLP regulatory guidelines

·Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal employees and external clients, with the ability to get things done by influencing others

·Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills with ability to learn and maintain knowledge of process excellence processes

·Strong problem solving and decision making
