Job Description

The Location

The position will be based at our Birmingham office with Hybrid working options (3 days in office and 2 at home).

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the Engineering Team to ensure that all engineering aspects for awarded projects are met and to ensure that the process solutions proposed are safe, cost effective and meet the contract requirements in accordance with good engineering practice. You will also be responsible for the quality and adequacy of the conceptual and detailed process design of all water and wastewater projects within VWT UK.

Qualifications

The Person

  • Engineering Degree (ideally Bsc / Msc (or equivalent associated work experience)

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Google Proven experience of design and build and Solution/package equipment.

  • Proven experience of working as a Senior Engineer or equivalent role.

  • Proven experience of managing a team, able to delegate effectively and to lead by example and act as a mentor. 

  • Without direct supervision to have an ability to pro-actively find information and answers so that design work is allowed to progress.

  • Ability and experience of being able to use initiative and knowledge to develop designs with a consideration for the key design features of the plant / equipment

  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
