An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 SpecialistRespiratory Clinician to join the Community Respiratory Team. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced clinician with arespiratory interest to join our existing multi-disciplinary team to deliverboth planned and unplanned care.

The Respiratory team provides care across Bristol, SouthGloucestershire and North Somerset therefore you must be adaptable to the needsof the service and staff across the BNSSG area. The community respiratory teamcurrently provides a 7-day service including weekends and bank holiday cover.

Positions Available:

  • 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours) permanent
  • 2 WTE (12 month FTC)

We will welcome applications from both full and part-time clinicians

Main duties of the job

You will provide clinical expertise and support in thedelivery of existing the Pulmonary rehabilitation service which is deliveredboth face to face and virtually across the BNSSG locality. Supporting theCommunity Home Oxygen Service and the specialist Advice and Guidance will alsobe a requirement of the role. We are also part of the new @home service, aimingto assess, treat and monitor acutely unwell patients within their own home. Thesuccessful candidate will therefore support within this pathway as required andfollowing competencies and appropriate training.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a Physiotherapy/Nursing/Occupational Therapy/Paramedic qualification recognised as equivalent by professional body
  • Membership to relevant professional body (i.e. NMC/HCPC)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) maintained in portfolio

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the field of respiratory care
  • Minimum Level 3 COPD and Asthma qualification
  • Level 3 Physical assessment and clinical reasoning qualification
  • Student mentorship/ practice assessor qualification
  • Holds or is working towards a post graduate diploma / degree in professional discipline and/or management practice

Experience

  • Previous post qualification experience working in a health and social care environment within the relevant professional discipline
  • Experience in respiratory rehabilitation and/or diagnostics
  • To be competent in performing specialist clinical assessments and treatments with a variety of presenting conditions, and with particular emphasis on respiratory examination, treatment techniques and clinical reasoning
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience of managing and reviewing the chronic respiratory cohort and demonstrable evidence of having worked recently with patients with respiratory disease.
