Career Teachers have a vacancy for an experienced Teaching Assistant at a well-respected school in the L7 area of Liverpool.

This fantastic school is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a child in Reception class on a full-time, long-term basis.

The role requires you to work closely with the class teacher, modelling positively, and promoting peer friendships and social skills, and sometimes taking the child out to work on individual and group interventions.

There will be an element of pre teaching required for Phonics and interventions and small group activities will be needed to promote social skills and interactions with peers. This will all be planned for by the teacher and you will be required to feedback the progress.

You will need to have excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, professional attitude. Experience in Early Years or Key Stage 1 will be an advantage, but other ages will be considered.

The vacancy is to start ASAP and is a long-term position, offering some CPD training opportunities. The working hours are 8.30am-3.30pm and a very competitive daily rate is on offer.

To be considered for this role you will be:

  • Understanding to the child’s needs
  • Experienced in supporting children (preferably on a 1:1 basis)
  • Experience of supporting EYFS to KS1 (preferred)
  • Able to commit full time, long term for continuity for the pupil
  • Have good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Able to work closely with the teacher to further development
  • Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to get one in process
