We are currently working within a Cidari multi trust academy which was established in November 2013 as a part of the Blackburn Diocese, it includes a mix of primary schools. There is a high demand for Teachers in this area, needing support on a short term and long term basis.

As a primary cover teacher you will be expected to know the curriculum and stick to the day to day plans that a teacher will leave for you to do, continuing the same level of education the children will receive.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach the curriculum that is relevant to the class/age ability/subject group you are supporting
  • Be responsible for making sure each lesson has the correct preparation and materials
  • Be aware of students capabilities and prior knowledge
  • Be accountable for the pupil’s progress and the outcome of the pupils you teach.
  • Understand the pupils needs individually, including those with educational special needs
  • Present your understand of subjects and take responsibility for promoting said subject
  • If you are an ECT, demonstrate understanding of appropriate teaching strategies
  • Converse with the pupil’s parents and deliver a report on the child’s progress and any potential concerns.
  • Essentials:

  • Relevant qualifications (PGCE/ QTS)
  • Class management skills
  • Able to engage children and promote to them
  • High Knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Two references to cover the last five years. One being a full childcare reference and the other can be from prior work or from education.
