ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of an Infrastructure Administrator is to support and perform BAUmaintenance and projects onselected Infrastructure components within IT Production. Currentlythis includes administration on Windows, Linux, Active Directory, HPE Blade Servers, VMWare, Sophos, Varonis, Netvault and Rubrik.

The team is currently split across London and Sydney CMC sites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide 2nd line support, monitoring and project work for componentsdefined as within job role;

  • Work within an ITIL framework to diagnose and resolve incidents and service requests;

  • Improve and refine monitoring and operational procedures;

  • Escalate complex incidents appropriately to on-call engineering teams;

  • Provide regular service summary regarding service availability, incidents and changes;

  • Actively participate and suggest improvements to the IT Infrastructure environment;

  • Provide and maintain appropriate documentation and handover for ongoing operations;

  • Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships (remote teams, vendors, engineering teams and IT management)

  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training;

  • When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets;

  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality;

  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

  • KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Linux / Windows Server administration;

  • VMware administration using vSphere;

  • Active Directory maintenance;

  • Experience in a similar support role;

  • Experience managing backup technology and operations;

  • Experience managing Dell, HPE or similar server architectures using OneView / ILO / OA or similar;

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking.

  • Basic Scripting and Automation skills (Powershell, Python, Terraform or similar)
