Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Teacher of Sport & Sport Science at our Worthing campus . You will join us on a variable, permanent basis (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year ). In return, we will offer a competitive salary of £22,156 – £38,894 per annum.

The Teacher of Sport & Sport Science role:

As our Teacher of Sport & Sport Science, youwill undertake teaching activities in an Ofsted Outstanding educational establishment & curriculum area, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs.

The Academy of Sport has an international reputation and competes for national, regional and county titles annually. It is also currently the best FE College for Sport in England as awarded by School Sports Magazine.

Key Responsibilities of our Teacher of Sport & Sport Science:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including mentoring, as agreed
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner
  • Undertaking administration and providing reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector
  • Participating in marketing activities and promoting the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment
  • Potentially planning, delivering and assessing across study programmes, including BTEC Sport & Sport Science (Level 3)

Our ideal Teacher of Sport & Sport Science should have the below skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject
  • Experience teaching Sport & Sport Science at Level 3
  • Experience in BTEC processes and protocols
  • An up to date interest in the field of Sport, Exercise & Health
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
