We currently have a vacancy for a Policy, Process and Systems Manager to join our Commercial team.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May . The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by .

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Drive best practice in commercial activities by developing and maintaining a commercial toolkit.
  • Keep abreast of emerging commercial approaches, changes to legislation, Government policy and any implications for the team/organisation.
  • Provide commercial intelligence to underpin decision making.
  • Requirement definition, acquisition and management of commercial systems as required.
  • Develop and manage a newly created team of four direct reports.
  • About you

    You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of commercial processes and good practice methodologies.
  • Experience of public sector procurement and contract management procedures.
  • Strong practical knowledge of UK procurement regulations and contract law.
  • Solutions focussed mindset and ability to innovate.
  • Experience in people management.
