Lecturer in Systems Neurobiology

A major objective of our school is to drive advances in biomedical research to prevent and manage human disease. Our highly successful team of neuroscientists is looking to add expertise in mental health research; in particular, on the neurological basis for psychiatric diseases such as (but not limited to) mood disorders, neurodevelopment disorders and dementias. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in systems neurobiology and/or neural circuits to bridge the gap between the underlying molecular profile and higher cognitive functions related to nervous system disorders. The appointee will benefit from interactions with our neuroscience team and its resources that include in vivo models, behavioural studies, imaging and electrophysiology. The post offers the opportunity to translate fundamental research in mental health and psychiatric diseases with teams in the , including the . The appointee would contribute to teaching on popular courses in higher cognitive function and psychiatric diseases in our neuroscience suite of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

For this role, you should have a PhD in neuroscience with expertise in psychiatric disorders and/or systems neurobiology.
