Job Description

Field Support Engineers are responsible for installing, commissioning and supporting our range navigation, surveying, data processing and simultaneous operations software systems in offshore survey environments. Due to the diversity of our client base and the nature of the oil exploration industry, the role provides the opportunity for worldwide travel, primarily undertaking support roles on vessels undertaking seismic surveys.

When not in the field, duties include office-based client support, system commissioning and testing, and involvement in client training and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Engineering experience
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure in demanding operational environments
  • Good analytical skills, and the ability to apply these to systems and processes
  • Flexible and Adaptable
  • Ability to cope with variable periods away from home, sometimes in challenging environments

    • What would really help?

  • Practical Linux (command line) and networking experience
  • Knowledge of data communications and basic electrical/electronic engineering
  • Experience of GPS, data radio systems, surveying and/or navigation
