Job summary

Toprovide an effective secretarial service to the Coronary Heart Disease andHeart Failure teams within the Community Services. You will carry out duties insuch a way that you will make a direct and positive contribution to theorganisation ensuring the smooth running of the specialist team. It isimportant to be a team player within the Specialty Care Group.

Main duties of the job

Usesystemone to create appointments rotas, letters, send tasks and updateinformtion as required. Be the firstpoint of contact for the service taking telephone queries from patients /carers and from a range of health care professionals.Register new patients intothe service and liaise with the clinical team in a timely manner regardappropriate appointments for patients. Use Carea for ordering, take minutes ofmeetings and set agendas. Scan and label documents.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients’ homes.

  • Typing 50 w.p.m.or equivalent typing qualification
  • Good general education to GCSE standard (4 Cs or above) or equivalent including English

  • Audio-Typewriting Qualification
  • Special Skills & Knowledge
