Finance Assistant (Finance, Contracting, Corporate Governance)

NHS LLR Integrated Care Board (ICB) commission and provide health and care services for over a million people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) and has a budget of c. £1.5 billion. There are 134 GP Practices in LLR and a total of 25 Primary Care Networks. The ICB is accountable for all strategic commissioning and contract management arrangements for the provider contracts. NHS LLR works collaboratively with the local authorities in addition to the borough/district councils in Leicestershire.

Due to the promotion of an existing postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB’s Corporate Finance team as a Finance Assistant.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate good Microsoft Excel skills and has experience using financial systems. An adaptive approach to meet deadlines whilst providing financial information and advice to non-financial managers is essential. This post is best suited to a self-motivated individual who can prioritise workloads and work effectively as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

The Finance Assistant will work flexibly as a member of the Finance team primarily within the Corporate Finance team with the ability to provide financial expertise where required, but in particular:

i. Support processes, monthly reporting, forecasting and variance analysis for infrastructure budgets

ii. Support processes for Corporate Finance reporting

iii. Support processes for Corporate Finance planning

iv. Contribute to the development and implementation of finance protocols & working procedures for the Corporate Finance team

v. Ensure monthly and annual financial timetables are met and other reporting deadlines as required by the CCG

vi. Take an active role in the month end process, preparing accruals information and entering journals in the general ledger

  • Educated to NVQ 4 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
