Guys and St Thomas is among the UKs busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical research nurse to join the Kings College London Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) team to undertake clinical research activities to deliver, a high-quality research study of healthy volunteers. You will achieve excellence within participant well-being and experience, and high standards of research nursing and governance, and clinical management in an exciting new, large-scale early cancer detection study. You will undertake participant communications including delivery of test results and aid their clinical interpretation, handle participant and health care professional queries and oversee referrals and care pathways in coordination with CPTU staff, GRAIL Bio UK Ltd and key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job include:
Lead on participant communications and well-being issues, providing specialist advice relevant to clinical research nursing, cancer screening and potential cancer-related anxiety (including handling of clinically-relevant research findings) 
Be responsible to support screening of eligible research participants including providing information and support to participants, clinical follow-up, data collection and safety reporting according to requirements 
Work with the Project Lead to establish and maintain key strategic relationships with networks of clinicians, researchers and health service managers for effective roll-out of the trial 
Work alongside a team of trial coordinators, data managers and database developers to ensure compliance with GCP, data protection and research governance frameworks, regulations and sponsor requirements 
Support the development of training materials for clinical research staff at study sites including study specific and informed consent training and elements of GCP 
Monitor participants experience and identify important participants well-being issues 
Be a central point of contact for site staff for trial-specific procedures including support to participants, eligibility assessment, informed consent, and sample management.
